Kokshetau

Kokshetau (Kazakh: Көкшетау / Kökşetaw), formerly known as Kokchetav (Russian: Кокчетав, until 1993) is the administrative center of Akmola Region, northern Kazakhstan. As of January 2022, the population of Kokshetau is 150,649.
The name of the city established in 1824 means "sky-coloured mountain".
This town was build in 1824. Has become administrative center of Akmolinskaya region since 1999.
